Sullys Hill Birding and Nature Festival!

Join us on Saturday, June 9 for the 12th Annual Sullys Hill Birding and Nature Festival brought to you by the Friends of Sullys Hill! Free of charge!

10:00-11:30 Photography Workshop: Join professional nature photographer and author Mike Hannisian for an entertaining workshop on how to manage, store, and process all your digital photos.

11:30-1:00 Concessions: Hot dogs and other refreshments will be available for purchase in the new amphitheater concession stand. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Sullys Hill to allow them to host the festival.

12:00-4:00 Birding Activities and Crafts: Festival goers of all ages will enjoy learning about birds and nature during these fun hands-on tables.

12:00 Wildland Fire Program: Join staff from the US Fish and Wildlife staff as they describe the fire program and provide hands-on opportunities to look at fire equipment and safety gear.

1:00-2:30 Go Climb a Tree! Kids 10 and under can put on a climbing harness and safely climb one of Sullys Hill's oak trees!

1:00 Golden Eagle and Red-tailed Hawk Program: Come learn about these magnificent birds of prey from the staff at the Roosevelt Zoo in Minot.

2:00- 3:30 Hayrides: Explore the refuge with this guided tour of some of the favorite spots of the bison and elk. Rides will be offered every half hour.

3:00 Forests of North Dakota: Join Bob Underwood, chief arborist from the Minot Forestry Department to learn more about these unique habitats of ND and how they are managed.

Having attended this event a few years ago I would highly recommend it for an outing. The preserve is native woodland and the scenery is gorgeous.
