Went down south-central this morning and saw very few ducks. Maybe 4-5 flocks of approx 20 mallards and 2-3 flocks of approx 12 pintails. Still a few teal and woodies but I was surprised that there weren't many other puddlers around. Total ducks seen for the day was probably less than 100. Did see quite a few geese which appeared to be locals and 1 flock of shortnecked, high pitched Canadas. Cormorant hatch must have been good this spring because they were flying non-stop. Still good to get out and see the sun rise.

Drop down to Illinois my friend and I will take you out to a Public area that its legal and shouldn't be too dificult to harvest your two Woodies (Ducks, that is...).

However, our season doesn't open until 10/23/03 here...but they usually hang around till early November without any problem.

Typo--should have put SE. I was in the Hankinson-Lidgerwood area. Only saw hen woodducks. Had one land in the dekes and I gave her a free pass.
