You can read this post on www.megaduck.com

It has been made clear to us that our ability to obtain the needed information through the Freedom of Information Act may be hindered by those that hold the power to do so. What this means in regard to the FOIA and our abilities as citizens to access data through it remains very unclear.

Therefore, we regret to inform you that effective immediately the $1,000,000 MEGADUCK CHALLENGE event is canceled. All memberships will be refunded in full and no prizes will be awarded.

We appreciate the support of the many who heard the truth of what we were attempting to do. We encourage all our fellow waterfowlers to participate in selective harvest, to bring new hunters into the sport and to abide by the laws set forth to govern the tradition we all share.

Yeah right! We all heard the truth and those that did did not support the "challenge"! I find it hard to believe that their reason for cancelling was poor access to records through the FOIA! Could it possibly be due to the fact that they were running into a lot of bad PR? Or that many sponsors pulled out? Interesting that they make it sound like it is still a good idea and that it is a shame that access to record remains unclear. If they supposedly ran into problems gaining that info for something so stupid then I say TOO BAD!!!
Again, my :2cents: Mike
