So, after I clean all the fat, meat, and fleshy membrane off the pelt, is there a way to tan it using things I could find around the house? (Hair-on tan). I'm a taxidermist, so with customers i simply send the hides and capes off to get shaved and tanned, and on smaller mammals I can use tanning formulas. But for my own personal furs, this is getting expensive. Oh, and by the way, if you try using powdered borax on mammals, it sucks.

I've heard Braintan's take a REALLY long time to do, from lots of people. And they tend to smell... is that true?
