It's a rush. Check your local game laws, each state seems to be very different with what is allowed.. Get out there and try some howls. Give it time it's a learning process. If you're getting some responses after a few minutes sit tight and get on the distress. Make sure you have a good moon, no clouds, and some snow or you won't see them. I wasn't able to take a few last year that I had within 15 yards of me because I just could not see them clear enough. KNOW your target and make clean kills.
