Got back from a week in Sask. last night.Great hunting.
BUT......if any of you are going this year,Be prepared to spend an hour at the border coming back. When we went up we were told to be ready to unload everything. After we filled out the USFW forms.....we had to empty everything out of the pickup. They counted and checked every bird to see that they matched what we had written down, looked under the trailer and pickup,in the engine compartment, made us empty our pockets, checked our billfolds.Searched our duffel bags.
Make sure you have your name, what is in the package, has a wing attached, and has your license number on it.Also make sure every person has their own birds in seperate containers.Mine were all in 2 big boxes. They don't want to see 3-4 hunters have all their birds mixed together.
They told us that video cameras are taping every encounter with some higher up guy sitting in Pembina watching a bank of screens. One of our guys had to use the Men's room and an agent went with him to make sure he didn't flush something down the head..They said all hunters at every port will be thoroughly checked.
We didn't have any problems and told them they were only doing their jobs
