Texas trucker border inspections disrupting supply chain, raising prices -White House (msn.com)

BTW... this thing that is happening in Texas has only been going on for a about a week.

Then they blamed Putin for the gas prices. Yet I have covered why that isn't 100% true or accurate.

Now here is the thing with inflation: It is Biden's and Trump era stuff to blame. BOTH...

Here are some reasons for inflation and Both Administration's had their fingers in these:

1. The lock downs that shut down the economy.
2. Printing money and giving out "free" money or gov issued checks.
3. Firing people or forcing them out of the work force because of the "shot"
4. Keeping lockdowns and reprinting money and giving more checks to people.
5. GOVERNMENT SPENDING and BILLS THAT KEEP ON SPENDING.
6. Supply issues (simple supply and demand principles... less supply prices go up)

But lots of this could have been "righted" or slowed down if some of the stuff Biden did right away in office. Along with the laws passed in CA involving emissions on Trucks and what not. Plus if our elected officials didn't keep us locked down and passed the federal "shot" requirements and so forth. Because private sectors followed fed guidelines and state guidelines.

But to go back to the link/article above..... This White house (and most do this as well) wants to push the blame onto people they are disagreeing with. Remember it was Putin, then it was "big oil", it was Big Corporations for supply chain issues, now it is Texas.

Instead of finding solutions they are pointing fingers. I know why is because of POLITICS and the MIDTERMS.
That is what is sad about our political climate. NO SOLUTIONS JUST FINGER POINTING. Now I am not just blaming Dems on this one. BOTH SIDES are to blame. Because that is all they would rather do... point fingers instead of finding solutions.

BTW.... everyone should look at how the bill or bills that were introduced (and shot down) about members of congress and immediate family are not allowed to trade stocks while in office. Funny how that got shut down ASAP. You know when you read about elected officials/family buying stock in Big Pharma, Tesla, etc. You know things directly that the congress people vote on or make regulation on. THIS IS A KNOCK ON ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS.

Not much to say other than I agree with what you are saying, especially that both sides do nothing. Most politicians go yo Washington to serve ------- themselves.

Maybe if the USA didn't outsource everything we would be in this big of a mess. Prices are soaring because we import almost every component to make things. And if something is manufactured in the USA, its own by one or two companies and they have 75% or more of the market share. Maybe we need to start breaking up some monopiles. And quit allowing a company with a monopoly pressing embargos to prevent a price drop.

BL....

Correct. Look at how many vehicles are sitting in lots because they dont have the "chip" for the heated seats and luxury stuff like that. All of those were "outsourced". Plus like I mentioned above some of our shipping ports that were "locked down" because of Covid and Covid regulations. Plus some Unions put a strangle hold on them. Even before the pandemic the some shipping ports were horrible. The unions and works just worked to the very minimum at best. This is what some independent Truckers told me. Then add into the fact that CA put the emissions regulation on trucks and what not. Which cut many many independents from running to CA. Which even caused more of a bottle neck. THEN add in COVID. It was a situation that was bad and got even worse.

I know in my example I blamed CA and its "green" initiative for some of it. I also blamed Unions. You can also look how the teachers Union acted during Covid. If you talk to actual teachers many didn't agree with what the Union was doing. So it shows you how sometimes Unions dont do what is actually in the best interest of people in the union.

But I am also a firm believer that Unions have run their course to a certain extent. But that is a whole other topic.

A good idea gone bad. When they started employers were treating emoyees like slaves. The union was a good idea, but as they gained power they also became corrupt. Today they love socialism so much they are biting the hand that feeds them. A business can like any host can only take so many parasites until the host dies.

My wife had spinal fission and can't take the ride of our 3/4 ton so I ordered a new half to last June 5th. Still waiting.

Why do you think Unions are "EXEMPT" from many things going into law. They had EXEMPTIONS in the ACA, they had or wanted EXEMPTIONS during covid... etc. Like when we discussed the ACA years and years ago on this site. I stated that it would take the #1 bargaining chip away from UNIONS... which is medical care. It is one thing most Unions fought for... better care, employers pay more for that care, etc. Why do you think Unions had exemptions in the ACA... because they knew it took away POWER. Again I could go on and on about this. But agree 100% that they were great and did alot of good at one time in history and were needed. But not so much now and UNION LEADERS only care about 1 thing... their own pocket books and not the best interest of their members. I have many friends that work for Unions, hold positions inside of the local Unions.... about 99% of them agree that the local Unions are still ok... but the higher up not so much.

Again... I better stop because it is a different topic and what not.

But I wonder who will get blamed next week.... Right now social media is in an uproar because Elon Musk offered to buy all of twitter for something like $55 billion. Which is about 30% higher than what is should be and the "board" should take it or they would be shunning/disobeying their oaths for the share holders.

But what is funny is Twitter is going into CHAOS because of many of the "blue checkmarks" are saying FREE SPEECH IS DOOMED. Which is funny since the majority of the speech that is getting censored is anything conservative. Like I have stated TRUMP is banned but yet Putin can still tweet.... Communists can tweet....Terrorists cans still tweet.... etc. The Russian Dossier was published and talked about... but if you called it FAKE... you went to twitter jail.... Hunter Biden's Laptop story got squashed and if you talked about it saying it COULD BE TRUE... you went to twitter jail.... etc. It is funny also people saying that they shouldn't let Musk buy Twitter are calling for more "moderation" on twitter. YOu know... CENSORSHIP.... it is crazy reading all of these things from people who say they are for freedom of speech.

One thing that is happening with the ELON MUSK vs TWITTER is that I think a firm came in and bought more shares so Musks "advantage" or "hostile" take over was some what thwarted. Because with him having the number of shares he did... he could do the "accept my offer or I will dump the shaves and watch your stock TANK".

But what is really funny or something to really watch is IF Musk buys twitter.... how will some Congress people FLIP FLOP on Sec 230. Something to watch here people. If some people that were AGAINST making new rules for Sec 230 are all of a sudden ON BOARD with making those rules changes should tell you something.

Trucking companies have to have 100 trucks or more to be allowed into certain ports. I hated unions before covid, I hate them even more now.

Here is something to keep a tabs on. The Biden Administration is looking to CUT even more federal gas/oil leases. So who is to blame for gas/heating/cooling/oil prices??? BTW... I will just mention that the middle east countries who we get oil from are upset by things The Biden Administration said... so you think they will "produce" or sell us some "cheaper" oil. Things to think about especially when you will hear them blame others.

I hear that our strategic reserves that Biden is pilfering he is giving to Europe. I think Biden is trying to weaken us purposely, but for what reason? So we can't defend Tiwan perhaps. Give away out strategic reserves, leave tens of billions in weapons in Afghanistan, give billions more in weapons to the Ukrain, cut oil drilling, and perhaps behind the destruction of food processing plants. How else woukd he know a food shortage is coming? The radicals are up to something very bad. I sure hope we get to vote this fall.

Plainsman....

One thing I was really afraid of was that this fall there will be another "outbreak" of Covid.... so then more mail in voting and what not will happen. But I think way too many state governments are waking up and would be afraid to do that or call for a "shut down". Look how fast Philly or Pittsburg reversed its mask mandates and what not about a week ago. It lasted about 1 day.

But it is something to keep an eye on.

I have seen some stuff about the meat processing plants and all the fires lately. But then saw how some of them were really old and they honestly stated they couldn't believe a fire didn't happen sooner. But it is very coincidental. Also there are many, many, many plants out there. The actually COVID SHUT DOWNS is what is causing all of this "food" shortages. How many plants went to 1 or 2 shifts instead running at 3. How many were shut down for 10+ days because of an "outbreak" and what not. Then let alone all the shipping/trucking issues. This goes at CA regulations that were implemented on emission for over the road trucks. Which alot of produce, milk, and other AG comes from CA. Or the fact that stuff from Mexico crosses the border with CA before it gets shipped to the rest of the country. All of this caused a bottle neck in production/shipping. Which then affected the rest of the nation. Now with gas/fuel prices... it costs over $1500 for many trucks to fill up their tanks (300 gallon tanks). Now they can go about 2000 miles on that. But still many truckers were independent contractors. So you take that amount out of their pockets. that is why some stayed home and collected the money our elected officials kept printing.

These are just other factors in all of this mess we are dealing in.

So remember when I talked about cutting of oil leases...

Well what is making the news is three leases they cancelled the "sale" on in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. The White House is saying that there wasn't any interest in it and what not. This is throwing more doubt about future of oil leasing and off shore drilling. Which is impacting our oil futures and prices we see now. THIS ISNT PUTIN.

Now here is the thing nobody it talking about. Our off shore drilling "plan" is set to expire the end of June or some time in June. The DOI (Department of the Interior) hasn't come up with any new plans for the off shore drilling and leasing. So if the Biden DOI decides to "scrap" any future drilling... LOOK OUT. It is scary what could happen. It puts our oil independence in an unknown right now. With Biden screaming GREEN GREEN GREEN... what do you think will happen with the DOI and off shore drilling?? Our gas prices are directly the result of this administration and lack of plan right now. Then with him releasing our oil reserves or depleting them by about 40%.... it is only going to get worse.

Now if you dont think this uncertainty of off shore drilling isn't a big issue. Well think of "Big oil"... why would they get new loans for equipment, building oil rigs, getting contracts from the electricians or people who maintain those rigs, etc. Think of the economic impact all thru out the oil industry. I know of an electrician who once had all the contracts to maintain all the oil rigs off the shore of Louisiana (he sold his business about 3 years ago)... but what about those workers? Then their supply chain of parts, tools, etc. This is a huge deal that is getting over looked.

They might say... OH WE HAVE 9000 leases... but again it all has do to with FUTURES. Those 9000 leases might not hold us for the next 5 years. They dont know.... so without upping or having newer leases coming up... all it will do is drive up cost of fuel/oil.

Anyways.... there are many articles on this out there and talking heads about it. But people we need to wake up... our leaders (not just the president) are failing our nation. The DOI not doing anything is hurting us.
