Tommorow I will bury one of the most important people in my life, my grandfather. He was my deer and pheasant hunting partner, but more than that, he was the strongest person in my family. He is the man that held all the strings together when tough times came. I guess this is my way of saying how much he meant to me. I wont be able to speak at the funeral, but will express to everyone on this site the same thing I have expressed to my family the last few days. Grandpa was a great man, he lived only to please others, help others, but most of all to see the joy of his sons and grandsons as they hunted the land that he farmed the past 70 years. I can sum up the way grandpa felt about my brother and I in one small sentence. He had never shed a tear until the day my brother shot his first buck at the farm.
Grandpa, I dont know what I am going to do without you, hunting will never be the same for me. I will miss you so much.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. You sound like you had a wonderful relationship with your grandfather, something that you will be able to cherish the rest of your life. For a lot of people, especially those children born into families with parents in their 30's, most of the grandkids never get to have a deep relationship with their grandparents because many have already passed away. Losing a family member is always hard, but the best thing about these events is that it allows you to reflect on your own life and more importantly, your mortality. So enjoy the celebration of his life, sounds like he was a very remarkable man :D
