Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) introduced legislation on Wednesday to ban the sale and possession of firearm suppressors.
It sounds like this guy is trying to give insanecpeople ideas. Why would you want to ban something that isn't being used in crimes? Often a car is used to run over and kill someone. Is there a call to ban cars. People don't hear electric cars coming and records show people have been hit and killed because they didn't hear them. Maybe we shoukd ban mufflers.

Gun silencers are dangerous devices with one purpose and one purpose only - to muffle the sound of gunfire from unsuspecting victims. The sound of gunshots is what signals you to run, hide, take cover, call the police and help others save themselves; however, this is nearly impossible when a gun silencer is used. That is why we must pass the HEAR Act, commonsense legislation that will prevent armed assailants from using these deadly devices to make it easier to shoot and kill another person.

The problem is we buy a $1000 suppressor and a $200 tax stamp from the IRS and they tell you to turn in both in one month what can a person do? Don't turn it in and get ten years in prison. They have crazy mandatory sentences. Many people keep their suppressor in a storage unit because if it's in your home the Bureau of Accusation Terror, and Fraud can walk right into your home with no notice. Not to mention with three suppressors there goes $3600.

Don't like the ban.
Greater fear?.....suppressor mandatory.
In some European countries, it is considered rude to not have a suppressor.

Imagine a mandate limiting "noise pollution" and increasing the cost of every firearm by a grand.
