The 2003 legislative session is very important for North Dakota sportspersons. Serious issues, that will affect the quality of North Dakota outdoors for many generations, will be debated and acted upon. Among these serious issues are caps on the number of nonresident waterfowl licenses, restrictions on the number of days nonresidents may hunt upland birds and restrictions to stem the loss of access from the recent proliferation of outfitters and guides.
To succeed on these issues, resident sportspersons will need to know and understand the status of Bills, and on short notice be able to impact the legislative process. This has been difficult in the past, because actions during the session often happen quickly and upon very little notice. We can’t get involved if we don’t find out about a proposed action until after it has occurred.
Nodak Outdoors has developed a system to educate and inform North Dakota sportspersons when our action is necessary. By clinking on the sign up button below, you can register into a database that will be used to send email notifications of important Bills, their status as they pass through the legislative process, when calls and emails to lawmakers are needed and the time and date of important committee hearings. This will be the internet version of a calling tree, and will be a very effective way of making sure you are informed of issues before theyre decided upon. Groups opposing the efforts of North Dakota sportspersons will be very organized during the next session, and we should utilize all technology available to ensure were better organized and educated.
There is no cost associated with this service, and you’re not being asked to join any group or club. We promise that your email address and other personal information will be held confidential, and not shared with or sold to other groups or organizations. Lawmakers tell us that our participation is important and does affect their decisions. If you wish to be informed of, or involved in, these important public policy matters please click on the sign up button below, and register be included in the notification database. Please also forward this page to other fellow North Dakota sportspersons, so they can also sign up.
