First of all, thank you for your expertise. I just barely got into goose hunting, and all types of this information is great. I live in upstate NY and went on my first canada goose hunt 2 years ago with a co-worker, and seeing him call them in, them setting their wings, and open fire. I was hooked! Sadly he and I do not have and time together to hunt. I have had to teach my self how to call. Pick up second hand blinds, and even made my own... very similar to your post...lol... before you wrote it. I have gotten a lot better with all of the above, and in your article you say to not "teach" them before regular season starts. However, I am a full time auto mechanic, and only get one day a week off. Sadly, the only time I get to "play" in the fields is during early season, and honestly my fiancee loves goose meat, (shes a keeper) so I have to take every advantage of early season; high limits, warmer climates, and easier (less educated) birds. Also getting kids into waterfowling is so much easier then. I respect everything you said, and thank you for it. Do you have any tips for me, other than what you previously said, to bag my limit? I do have some really good spots, because of common courtesy and just asking. And keeping in touch with the farmers and land owners. Again, any advise for a 2 year veteran? lol Thanks again, love the advise.
