cleaning stretched fur

Postby kvernum3 » Thu Nov 05, 2009 6:59 pm

Hey guys,

I have a question, I have around 20 coyotes stretched and ready to sell, My question is that I have a few that have some blood stain still on them.( I learned my lesson, i need to clean them a bit better ).. But are there any good methods to getting the last bit of blood off my pelts?.. They are off the stretchers and ready to sell... Thanks.

Yup I always wash mine two or 3 times by hand with laundry detergent prior to stretching. Also rinse them in fabric softener.

Even so I have had a few that had some blood in the fur. What I did was I combed the blood out and it worked well since it was dry. You could also maybe try wetting your fingertips and just try to work it out a little at a time, then comb it again.

Let us know how it goes.

you can use a mild peroxide on the chest fur. but it should just comb out.
